Your donations will enable us to continue providing services in an accessible, centralized location for clients in recovery from alcohol and/or drug addiction, as well as those dealing with other issues such as anger management, domestic violence, mental health, and parenting.

Our young adult program supports individuals who experimented with drugs and/or alcohol and are now facing challenges such as poor work attendance, behavior problems, legal issues, and low self-esteem. We offer special attention to young pregnant women struggling with addiction. Services are provided in a safe, drug-free environment.

MELA collaborates with parents, employers, probation, parole, social services, and the courts to provide support and education on the effects of substance use on the body and mind. Our interventions include informational classes, group meetings, family meetings, parent meetings, one-on-one counseling, patient/client drug testing, social and recreational activities, and follow-up services. Our programs are based on the principle that consistent rewards for positive behaviors lead to incremental steps toward personal responsibility and productive lifestyles.

MELA offers services through various payment methods, including L.A. County's Substance Use Disorders programs, Medi-Cal, MyHealthLA, and private pay. We also provide a sliding scale fee for low-income clients. Fundraising is a crucial part of our program, as we aim to assist clients who seek to break the chains of addiction regardless of their financial situation. We never turn away individuals seeking to change their lives and become productive members of society due to a lack of funds.

MELA has helped clients reunite with their children and families. Many of our clients have completed high school, pursued higher education, found well-paying jobs, and become strong members of our communities. Numerous former clients have returned to share their stories at MELA, encouraging others who are on the path to recovery.
